Chief Chief Officer (CCO) - Founder / Owner

Richard's the guy that started it all.

He began working on what is now Geroc in 2008.  The official launch date was on the day following the September 2010 Canterbury Earthquake, which provided both opportunities and difficulties at the same time. Since that time, Richard has been progressively growing Geroc's user based locally and abroad.

He graduated from the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand in 1999 with a B.Sc (1st class) in Engineering Geologist.  His first job was in the United Kingdom where he worked for a site investigation company for 1 year, primarily on large road and rail projects.  During this year he became heavily involved in the maintenance of site databases, set-out of test locations using GPS systems and monitoring of pump tests using data loggers. After returning to New Zealand he was fortunate to become involved in the investigations for hydroelectric developments where his interest in data management continued to grow.  It was during this period that, through frustration with the existing products being used, he began investigating the possibility of developing a simpler system.

He's now less involved in the software development and more focused on future developments and client requirements.

When he not at work, he's usually playing 'catch-up' with jobs for his daughter and around the house or travelling.
