“Four years ago, and for my former employer, I evaluated various drilling database solutions to capture and report on geotechnical drilling data. Each product was evaluated on a matrix including; data importation, customisable reporting, price, support, data storing/sharing, scalability. After trialling three different software products, Geroc Core-GS was selected.
The choice was based on the windows graphical user interface, customisable reports, SQL server database in which data is stored/retrieved, logical table and field naming, level of documentation, technical support and time zone friendly support from NZ from South Australia.
Two years ago, I started my own geotechnical drilling business and the selection of Core-GS was the natural choice. Recently we included Cone Penetration Testing (CPT) to our capabilities and this required the importation of *.gef format data.
Geroc’s CPT Add-In was bundled with our existing Core-GS Professional package and after some remote training and report customisation, we are up and running.
